Safety Latches and Locks
If you have children, you should install Safety Latches and Locks on all your cabinets and drawers in the kitchen, bathroom and other areas that may contain hazardous materials. Safety Latches prevent poisonings and other injuries. They keep your child from being able to access medications, household cleaners, knives as well as other dangerous and sharp objects.
When buying Safety Latches you should look for ones that you can easily install and use, but are sturdy enough to withstand pulls and tugs from children. Make sure you inspect the Safety Latches you have installed at least once a month to make sure they are still working correctly. While Safety Latches and Locks are not a 100% guarantee of protection, they can make it more difficult for children to reach hazardous substances.
